Sandwich Local History Project

This week, we will begin to work on our Sandwich Local History Project. This project is designed to coincide with the 375th Anniversary of the town of Sandwich this year. Students will choose a group to work with, a topic to research, and a project to create. Each project will need a technology component to it. I will also be looking for a group to run a website for this project. Anyone interested should see Mr. Duffany once the project begins. The first few days will be used to choose groups, topics and to start thinking about a potential project. We only have limited time in the classroom to work on this project. We have set aside every Friday from the end of March to the middle of May to work on this. This works out to roughly 8 class periods...not a lot of time. In addition, there will be two writing assignments and a gallery walk thrown in to help focus your work. Please check here for all of the project materials and handouts: http://sandwichlocalhistoryproject.wikispaces.com/
On this site there is a calendar, rubrics, links to online sources like books and websites.
For this project, I want you to think outside of the box. If there is a topic or place that you would like to know more about, I want you to explore this. I can set you up with the archives at the library or make any other contact that we might need to help you be successful. Email me with questions at jduffany@sandwich.k12.ma.us
